Evermerge
Evermerge was originally developed by a 2nd party offshore studio partner. When development came in house I had the opportunity to advise the team on low cost, yet high impact UI/UX improvements.

RECOMMENDED IMPROVEMENT OBJECTIVES: 1. To design a player experience that is meaningful with the goal of long term growth and scalability. 2. The consolidation and "merging" of features that improve the quality of the player experience. Edit and simplify 3. Raise the UI/UX bar by reducing cognitive load and meeting player expectations by of what it means to play a best in class contemporary mobile game.

The intent with this design was to edit and reduce cognitive load, so I went with a grid based HUD that has the icons sitting within the button shapes, which makes for a cleaner silhouette and reduces visual noise.

And another recommendation related to reducing cognitive load was to take all of the various Live Ops and Events icons that cluttered the HUD, and consolidate them into a single menu called the Events Hub. This snippet of that design outlines the Reward Claiming Sequence.

A big part of these UI/UX recommendations of mine involved outlining quality of life features for players that improved informational clarity as well as reducing friction.
